Leading With Devotionals
THE WONDER DEVOTIONALS
You can get this great tool from Child Evangelism Fellowship through their website. Click the "Get Devotional" button to go to their site. They are very helpful for students who want to know more about God & the Bible. It is also a helpful way for them to share their faith with others. Child Evangelism Fellowship also offers really great training resources for Bible Clubs. They have had successful Bible Clubs in Public schools for decades. They are called Good News Club® These clubs mostly meet after school which allows much more time for engaging without the restrictions of a before school club. You can ask to have both a longer after school club and a before school club at your school. The following excerpt is from their site.
"Good News Club® is a ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship in which trained teachers meet with groups of children in schools, homes, community centers, churches, apartment complexes, just about anywhere the children can easily and safely meet with their parent's permission. Each week the teacher presents an exciting Bible lesson using colorful materials from CEF Press. This action-packed time also includes songs, Scripture memory, a missions story and review games or other activities focused on the lesson's theme. As with all CEF ministries, the purpose of Good News Club is to evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and establish (disciple) them in the Word of God and in a local church for Christian living. Ways to Use Them
Student Lead Devotions 5th Grade students can share in Kids for Christ Club meetings from these weekly lessons. Assign one Devotional per week. Students memorize the verse. Students think about main topic and discussion offered. When they return to club they can share their thoughts and questions with each other during the 5th grade devotional time before the club meeting. There are six different Wonder Devotionals offered by Child Evangelism Fellowship. Using them as a take home weekly devotional gives a good overview of many important Christian themes. They can be given or purchased by students. Since there are 6 different devotionals, a different one can be given for different grade levels. FAMILY Devotion Time They are also very helpful tool for families to share. Encourage them to invite their families to read the lessons with them each week. |
